//Remedy Church Covenant Partners, Regular Attenders, and Guests//
As we prepare for the summer, we would like to send you an update on our church planting efforts in 2014.
The Elders have been praying and fasting on how we will continue to live and share the Good News of Jesus the King through our weekly night worship gathering.
As we have prayed and sought wisdom from the leadership remnant in the night worship gathering, we have discerned a desire to make a radical move with this church planting experiment. From June 15th through August 31st, we are moving our “Remedy at Night” worship gathering to the Downtown SBY Riverwalk (North of the La Quinta Inn on the corner of the East Prong of the Wicomico River and Highway 13).
Our ever present hope is to honor Jesus the King with this weekly night worship gathering as an expression of our “Going. Being. Doing.” mission of Remedy Church. This is the very reason we launched this worship gathering in the Fall of 2013!
Anyone is welcome who may desire to honor and worship Jesus the King alongside the Elders of Remedy Church and the remnant of Covenant Partners who lead the night worship gathering. We pray that this shift in “venue” for our night gathering will help Remedy Church reach a new demographic in our city. We are excited about this new adventure with you!
After the summer, it is our plan to shift the venue from the open-air Downtown SBY Riverwalk (from June 15th through August 31st) back into the City Center in September. Effective immediately, we have asked Chris and Meredith McIntosh to take an even more active Shepherding leadership role this worship gathering alongside the Elders. Please pray for Chris and Meredith, as they have accepted this opportunity with enthusiasm and pray for the Elders as we strive to lead Remedy Church and her planting efforts with wisdom and grace.
Finally, one more item of importance as it relates to Remedy Church as a collective::
This weekend, on June 8th, Downtown Salisbury will be host to the Maxima Festival. An event run by Maxima, the largest Latino radio station on the Eastern Shore…The Maxima Feastival will bring the greatest density of Latinos that the Eastern Shore will see in 2014 onto our front doorstep (literally… the stage will be set at the crossroads of Division St. and Main St. which is only a block from the City Center).
Kevin from the Maxima Festival has requested that Remedy Church help him with the post-festival cleanup. And we have accepted this honor to serve the Latino community in our Downtown in this way! Kevin has reserved adult tickets (kids under 14 are free) for 20 people from Remedy Church at the Main Street ticket booth. In order to serve with us, please arrive wearing a “WeHeartSBY” shirt (to identify you with Remedy Church) after 5pm.
Due to the nature of the Maxima Festival, and the importance of this event, the Elders have decided to move our “Remedy at Night” worship gathering from the City Center, and into the city streets for this weekend. Instead of gathering to pray, sing, and study the Scriptures this Sunday night (June 8th)… we are asking you to consider attending our morning worship gathering and then serving the Latino community with us as a “Going. Being. Doing.” Church at the Maxima Festival.
If you have any questions regarding these two vital announcements, please contact the Elders without hesitation. Thank you for living the Good News of Jesus the King as we “Go. Be. Do.” together!
May the Peace of Christ go with you,
